Historical (My Cannon, not acual)-
With the growing decline of the Imperial factions and "Enemy" starfighters constantly improving, One Imperial leader began to design newer fighters to try to match the curent generation of Republic fighters.
The second fighter to come out was the Viper. Compared to the Saber, it was not well receved by, well, anyone...
The pilot had a 50/50 chance of killing himself.
While the fighter itself was a sound design, the problem was that the engines were overpowered, resulting in an increase death rate in the pilot erorr catagorie.

personal note-
I realy wanted an intersepter design with this one, but even with messing with the origenal, I didn't fully like where this design was going... So, insted of scraping it, it became a cursed fighter. Anyone that tried to bring out it's full potental is killed, namly in high speed turns and spinning out of control and crashing.
At this point I'm thinking of changing the design eventualy, so the picture may change at a later date.
